The Eagle Scout Association–SHAC provides a formal structure for Eagle Scout alumni to stay connected through recognition, networking and service. The New Eagle Scout Reception recognizes the previous year’s Eagle Scout class, and is produced primarily by volunteer efforts of Eagle Scout alumni. The council continues its tradition of providing this reception free of charge for new Eagle Scouts. The event is underwritten with generous sponsorships by Eagle Scout alumni and patrons. Volunteers are needed to help staff various positions.
Host an Eagle Alumni Meet-Up in Your Community
Eagle Alumni are hosting casual Eagle Gatherings (meet-ups) in a variety of settings.
Eagle Scout Representative on District Committee
The Eagle Scout representative is an adult leadership role in the council. Eagle Scout representatives serve as a liaison between the council ESA committee and the local district, with accountability to promote re-engagement of Eagle Scout alumni through Eagle Scout Meet-Ups, service projects and other district Scouting activities. Day of Service
Twice a year, Eagle Scout alumni provide a day of service to the community. The Fall Day of Service is an opportunity for Eagle Scout alumni to provide service at Yellowstone Academy, a faith-based, non-denominational school serving low-income children in grades K-8. The Spring Day of Service is typically held at a local park (e.g., Memorial Park).
ESA Publicity Booths
The ESA committee sets up publicity booths at various events to attract new Eagle Scout alumni member sign-ups, network with Eagle Scout alumni there, encourage Eagle Scouts to get involved, and promote general awareness of the Eagle Scout Association. Volunteers are needed to help set-up and man the booths.
Scout Fair is held in April at NRG Arena. Hundreds of booths run by units and community partners, outdoor cooking, merit badge midway, entertainment and much more are set up for Scouts to visit. The SHAC Eagle Scout Association has a tabletop display at both events and information flyers. Volunteers are needed for two-hour time shifts from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.

University of Scouting is held in February at a local high school. University of Scouting is an annual training event for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity, Venturing, Sea Scouts, Order of the Arrow, district and council leaders and parents. Volunteers are needed for two-hour time shifts from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.
Cub Scout Leader Pow Wow is held in November at a local high school is a one-day training with new ideas and resources for Cub Scout leaders and parents. This is a great opportunity to meet Eagle Scouts who are getting back involved in Scouting with their boys. Volunteers are needed for two-hour time shifts from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.
